Makers Club - K'NEX

Makers Club - K'NEX In-Person

Please register only the child for this program. Join Daniel Michael each month to explore architecture using K'nex to construct items. Guardians must stay on the library premises during the program, but do not need to stay in the Lowry Room. What does maker mean? I've learned from a Google search that "the maker community is a global network of individuals who share a passion for hands-on creation and innovation, often involving technology and DIY techniques. It encompasses a diverse range of interests, from traditional crafts to advanced digital fabrication, and emphasizes collaboration, learning through doing, and sharing knowledge."

About the presenter:

Daniel Michael is an Architectural Associate with Larson Design Group who has taken the path less traveled for his career. He was a helicopter mechanic and a Marine Corps sergeant; later, he was a parts book illustrator for Caterpillar. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and has since worked for a few small architectural firms. Now, Daniel works at LDG, assisting with design projects ranging from renovations and small retail spaces to medium-sized schools and large aircraft hangars, collaborating with coworkers across the United States.
In his free time, Daniel enjoys using the resources of the James V. Brown Library and making his own creations (MOC) with K’nex, Lego, Technic, and whatever random bits of cardboard and plastic might be laying around.
