Dot by Dot: Pointillism Art In-Person
Learn about pointillism, the art style made popular by French artist Georges Seurat. Pointillism is a neo impressionist technique introduced in the late 19th century. It utilizes dots of color to create an image in the viewers eye. Rather than blending the paint, then applying it, the colors are combined optically with dots of different hues. Learn the technique with local artist Linda Rishel and try it for yourself. Take home your own watercolor marker pointillism masterpiece!
Linda is a drawing artist from the Mifflinburg area and attended Kutztown University for art education. Her art generally focuses on subjects in nature as well as custom commission requests. I have been practicing pointillism occasionally since 1981 but it has been her concentration for 3 years. Having been honored with several local and regional awards, she has been welcomed into various selective exhibitions, displaying her work in Selinsgrove, Lewisburg and Newport locations as well as the Capitol rotunda in Harrisburg.
