Drum Circle Storytime In-Person
Preschool Storytime is usually for children 3.5-5 years old. For this special program, school aged children are also welcome, as are younger siblings of preschoolers. Please register all participants, children and adults.
Join Miss Sheila for a special MUSICAL preschool Storytime. We will read books, play music and sing, and learn about Native American drum circles with Bloomsburg University professor of percussion Gifford Howarth. Children and their adults will be able to play in the drum circle and learn about musical concepts like tempo and dynamics as well as the meaning and uses for drum circle songs in Native American culture.
For questions about this program please contact Sheila at showarth@jvbrown.edu
This program is one of the many ways Pennsylvania Public Libraries support the PA Forward Initiative through providing basic literacy opportunities for learning.
