MUSEUM ROOM

MUSEUM ROOM In-Person

Are you looking for a new way for your child, age three to nine, and you to connect? Then, our dramatic play museum room is an area for you to explore!

Join Mrs. Marie during this dramatic play event! This area is specifically for children ages three to nine and their caregivers to explore together! Only the child needs to be registered.

Not only does dramatic play support creativity and self-expression, but it also helps children learn real-life and social skills. Dramatic Play is any play where kids create assigned roles and act out scenarios. In the museum room, we are encouraging structured play. This is the kind of play where there are scenarios. The following are the scenarios for the museum room:

  1. Community Helper role-play costumes with tools to explore.
  2. Model being a doctor while utilizing medical equipment to perform an exam.
  3. Demonstrate how to create Mail or deliver letters with our mailbox.
  4. Discover how to be a dentist by exploring dental instruments on a model mouth.
  5. Explore different uniforms and dress-up items.
  6. Use tools to construct/deconstruct a small wooden toy at a workbench.
  7. Apply personal experience to be a grocery clerk; ring up and bag groceries, check out customers, practice counting items, and explore pretend money.
  8. Explore related books to community helpers, cooking, and the zoo.
  9. Use the pretend food and Kitchen set.
  10. Cook a meal.
  11. Set the table.
  12. Utilize toy knives to cut up special play food items.
  13. Shop for food.
  14. Check out at the grocery store and pay for items.
  15. Explore the dollhouse and assign the rooms.
  16. Decorate the rooms with the proper furniture in the doll house.
  17. Name the characters in the doll house.
  18. Use manipulatives for dramatic play at the white table. (Currently a zoo)
  19. Produce a work of art at the easel.
